Simone Leigh explores black female subjectivity through sculpture, video, and installation, drawing on African diasporic aesthetics and vernacular architecture. Bisi (2023) venerates curator Bisi Silva; Untitled (2023–24) features cowrie shells evoking fertility, currency, and Atlantic histories. Until 15th March
The Winter Show features over 25 of their resident artists, this exhibition showcases work executed within the last twelve months and affordably priced under £400. Each piece is available for removal on the day of sale and sold work is replaced throughout the show, creating a moving and fluid display that changes throughout its duration. Until 24th January
With 45 years’ experience in the business, The Comedy Store is renowned as a breeding ground for new comedy talent, and is the place to see tomorrow’s stars today. The event promises “The Best In Stand Up” from around the globe, showcasing the brightest names in comedy today. 28th February
Turner 250: Breaking Waves at Turner Contemporary. A rare Turner oil sketch returns to Margate. It’s a small, soul-stirring moment: standing where he once watched the weather, you feel the pull of the coast. Stop in, then watch the waves break for real. Until April 2026
During the Autumn and Winter you’re welcome to take your four legged friend straight on the beach for a sandy walk or romp in the waves, depending on how brave they (or you!) are feeling. And if you need an extra towel for a dry off please do ask. October – April
A festival exploring care for ourselves and each other. Through movement, sound, immersive experiences and nurturing workshops, you’re invited to slow down, restore and reflect with a mix of events supporting well-being across four themes: Earth, Body & Soul, Rituals & Rest and Wellness by Design. 30th January – 22nd February
Returning to this wonderful and centrally placed venue in Margate Old Town, Brighter Days will fill the space with a fantastic selection of quality hand-crafted items from Kent artisans for you to discover and take home. 14th and 15th February
