Join us for the festive season at No. 1 York - we just love Christmas at GuestHouse. Whether you're looking to book a festive catch up with friends, a Christmas party, a gothic Christmas break with a visit to the Christmas market come and join the fun at No. 1. We're open to all including children and furry friends.
York comes alive in the Winter months with the Christmas market, a vast array of independent shops (a treasure trove for thoughtful gifts) or just have a cosy night in with cocktails in the Rhubarb Bar and supper in Pearly Cow.
Whether it's a catch-up with friends, a table for two, or a big festive gathering, Pearly Cow is a rather wonderful place to be in December.
Our seasonal menu does the rest: the kind of food that makes you want to linger long after the plates are cleared.
We're also running our Steak Night offer on Thursday evenings throughout the festive period, if you need another reason to book. Tables from 2 to 10 - just pull up a chair, watch the candlle light flicker and let us take care of the rest.
Whether you're after a festive away day, a long lunch or dinner at Pearly Cow, or the whole place to yourselves, No. 1 does Christmas parties rather well.
Hire our Private Dining Room (just off Pearly Cow) for dinner for up to 16 guests or gather the gang (or maybe it's a crowd!) and host a party for up to 58. Or go the whole way and take over all 38 rooms and suites for the night, with the hotel entirely yours to enjoy exactly as you please finishing off with our hearty Peary Cow breakfast the following morning.
Sparkling decorations, good food, great company, and a gorgeous Georgian building that makes everything feel that little bit more special. However you want to celebrate this festive season, we'll make it one to remember.
And just to tempt you even further.... Book your exclusive use event or festive private dining at No. 1 York before 30th September for events in November or December 2026 to receive 10% cashback on the contract value of your booking, to spend at No. 1 in January, February or March '27. *
* if confirmed and deposit paid by 30th September
The festive season in York is a time for indulgence and treating yourself and your loved ones. Our 2 and 3-night Christmas packages are made for those who want the whole festive picture with all the treats and most importantly without the stress.
Arrive on Christmas Eve to board games and mulled wine, followed by carol singers and a feast in Pearly Cow. Christmas Day brings Buck's Fizz at breakfast, canapés, something sparkling, and a five-course lunch with all the trimmings.
The 3-night package adds dinner on Boxing Day, giving you an extra unhurried day to browse the sales, or a wander beside the Ouse or along the city walls to fully explore our beautiful city. York comes into its own in the colder months and we can't wait to share it with you.
The longer you stay, the more you save
With the `Ber month break, save 15% on one night stays, 20% on 2 night stays and 35% on 3 night stays.
