Your Copper Bath stay at GuestHouse includes our extra-special shared Copper Bath ritual. You'll spend 90 calming minutes in our opulent Copper treatment room dedicated to those who like to enjoy spa time together. To begin your experience, you're left to bathe in privacy and peace in the oversized copper bath with two glasses of fizz (or non-alcoholic substitutes); the organic, magnesium-rich salts in the water will detoxify muscles, drawing out any tension-causing aches and pains.
Then, side-by-side, it’s time for a back, neck and shoulder massage. Your therapists will focus their experience, passion and healing hands on making a genuine difference to your muscular comfort and sense of wellbeing. And they will take your lead as to what you would like to address and how you would like to feel both during and after your treatment. Then the choice is yours between a eucalyptus-infused foot massage or a deeply relaxing bespoke facial, both of which finish with a dreamy scalp massage. And then all that's left to do is float up the stairs...
After a day of museum visiting, walking along the Ouse or browsing the independents step down into our soothing Spa - an oasis of calm below the hotel.
Our Spa offers bespoke therapies with tailored treatments that bring deep-sigh relaxation in our historic treatment rooms. Your skilled therapists await the chance to listen to your needs and tailor your treatment experience using organic, vegan and sustainably sourced oils and essences to create the ultimate eco-luxury experience.
Your stay includes your choice of room, our better-than-your-usual breakfast and our 90 minute couple's Herbal Healer Ritual too. We recommend adding in your preferred treatment time into your booking comments when making your reservation. Our spa team will then confirm a time back to you.
The Signature Stay, York is available Sunday to Thursday.

This extra-special ritual calls on the calming and anti-inflammatory properties of locally grown Yorkshire Lavender.
Performed in our serene treatment room for two, the experience begins with an invigorating lavender-infused salt scrub, followed by a stress-busting aromatherapy massage, both focused on your back, neck and shoulders. Warm herbal poultices are then placed along your spinal pressure points, helping to realign and rebalance you while the back of your legs and feet are worked on.
Then, we move on to the front of the body, applying flowing, wave-like “Lomi-Lomi” massage techniques to your legs and arms in unison. The ritual ends with a nourishing facial treatment, along with a scalp massage to leave you in a state of total relaxation.
And then all that's left to do is float up the stairs...
