Set at the front of our Georgian townhouse, the Clifton Suite is a calm, characterful retreat where Bootham meets the charming streets of Clifton. Perfect for exploring York year-round, it’s an inviting home-from-home after days spent discovering the city’s history and hidden corners.
Spacious and family-friendly, the suite features a super-king bed, a sofa bed for little explorers, and plenty of room to relax - including for four-legged guests. A separate lounge offers space to dine, unwind, and play, with vintage touches, soft natural light, and the option of one of our magical children’s teepees, thoughtfully set up for arrival.
The generous bathroom includes a walk-in shower and deep soaking tub and signature GuestHouse details - from cosy furnishings to the charming doll’s house tea and coffee station - are there as always for your stay.
Sundays at GuestHouse are the ultimate spring escape. Trade the "Sunday scaries" for a night at our happy hotels with the Sunday Night Club. Enjoy a glass of fizz on arrival and a three-course roast featuring the season’s freshest vegetables in Brighton, York, or Margate.
We’ll include a gorgeous breakfast, full pantry-raiding rights, and a complimentary room upgrade if available. Laze until midday on Monday or work from our light-filled lounges. It’s the perfect bit of seasonal escapism for a dream of a price. From £285 per room.

Ingredients
Pinch of salt
25ml grapefruit juice
London Essence Grapefruit Soda (top it up!)
15ml lime juice
15ml agave syrup
25ml Everleaf Marine (a non-alcoholic spirit infused with bergamot and sea buckthorn)
Method
Combine all ingredients, except the soda, in a glass.
Add ice and stir until chilled.
Top up with the grapefruit soda.
Garnish with a generous wedge of pink grapefruit.

If the beach right at your doorstep and opening the doors to a private balcony with front row sea views sounds like your beach dream come true, you’ll want to be making yourself comfortable in of these rooms. These rooms have a separate bath and shower and a super-king size bed. This is one for those who not only want a room with a view but want to be part of it.
