Whether you’re after Autumn-in-the-city or Autumn-by-the-sea, we’ve curated the best itineraries, hidden gems, and memorable experiences to make the most of crisp mornings and fire-lit evenings. From hearty feasts to bundled up coastal rambles, there’s no shortage of ways to feel wonder-filled.

Autumn offers

No. 42 Margate

No. 42 is our beautifully restored Victorian townhouse turned boutique hotel, elegantly poised between the High Street and the beach.

Rooms are decked out in neutral tones with playful plant-themed wall doodles and heritage touches. Pearly Cow offers local, seasonal fare such as oysters, lobster rolls, and salt cod tacos, all served in a vibrant setting with an open kitchen and beach views. The Spa features peaceful treatment rooms, with a signature experience with a Copper Cove for two.

Visiting in autumn adds layers of magic, with a quieter coastal serenity. Explore Margate Old Town: independent galleries, vintage boutiques, record shops, and cosy cafés. Wander Margate's golden sands or the coastal path toward Cliftonville or Westbrook Bay at sunset for dramatic skies. Browse Margate Caves or the quirky Shell Grotto, or even Turner Contemporary.

No. 124 Brighton

Set across four carefully restored Victorian and Georgian townhouses on Brighton’s Kings Road, No. 124 boasts sweeping sea views - including the iconic West Pier and i360.

Some rooms offer sea views, some even have balconies. The Lounge, Games Room, and Courtyard come alive with snug lighting, board games and an unmissable drinks list. FieldTrip Spa is known for bespoke treatments and signature Copper Cove experience, a side-by-side soak in a copper tub with champagne followed by massage and facial. Pearly Cow’s intense, hearty dishes - lobster tacos, flame-grilled steaks, beef-fat chips - feel particularly satisfying against autumn’s cooler backdrop.

Brighton remains buzzing in the Autumn - walkable shops, vintage lanes, live venues, and cultural outings - but without the high-season influx. Plus, Autumn sunsets over Brighton Beach are really not to be missed.

No. 15 Bath

No. 15 is housed in three Georgian townhouses on Great Pulteney Street - one of Bath’s grandest and widest thoroughfares. Each room is unique - from snug attic retreats to grand Pulteney Rooms with chandeliers, murals, and sash windows overlooking the iconic street.

Bath is charming in Autumn: the Georgian architecture, golden foliage, and quiet cultural spaces make for a romantic, reflective retreat. Strolling through places like Sydney Gardens and Bathwick Fields is especially enchanting in autumn. In 2025, Bath celebrates Jane Austen’s 250th anniversary, anchoring the city’s literary and cultural charm - and No. 15, steeped in Regency atmosphere, becomes even more fitting.

No. 1 york

Just a 10-minute stroll from York Minster, No. 1 occupies a stately Regency townhouse featuring soaring ceilings, sweeping central staircases, and large sash windows - all wrapped in red Virginia Creeper for a grand-by-way-of-welcoming feel.

In Autumn, everything aligns: you get the best of York’s festivals, changing foliage, cultural happenings, and cozy comforts. Picture a brisk walk along River Ouse or atop the City Walls, the leaves blazing behind elegant buildings like The Minster. Ghost tours, haunted walks (like Shadows of York), and historic exhibitions under the crisp skies also add to the perfect Autumn in York.

The yorkshire halloween festival

23rd - 31st October

Brought together by Made in Yorkshire and held along Parliament Street, the festival is a celebration of creativity, craft, and community, with something for every age.

Alongside a collective of much-loved local artisans, you’ll find a line-up of independent makers hosting hands-on workshops - inviting you to create, play, and immerse yourself in the season’s autumnal and Halloween spirit.

Their Sensory Tipi is an inclusive space offering a series of accessible, creative experiences. Pre-book a session or simply wander in on the day and discover a Halloween-inspired sanctuary in the middle of York.
