Allie & Chewy – März 2025

„Wir hatten den schönsten Tag überhaupt – Margate hat unsere Erwartungen definitiv übertroffen!! Es gab so viele besondere Momente, aber einige der schönsten waren…“

a) Der Gesichtsausdruck unserer Gäste, als sie die Fülle an Austern sahen, die unten in der Oyster Bar angeboten wurde, wurde nur noch übertroffen von

b) der Blick auf den Gesichtern unserer Gäste, als sie die Treppe hinaufkamen und die Schönheit des Hauptspeisesaals und des Balkons im Pearly Cowerblickten.

Beim Frühstück am darauffolgenden Morgen sagte einer unserer Gäste, dass das Pearly Cow genau die Art von Glamour besitze, die das Ivy damals immer anzustreben versucht, aber nie so richtig erreicht habe.

Und dann zum Essen – die Austern waren himmlisch (mein Schwager aß gleich fünf – er hat die Familienregel, sich zurückzuhalten, wohl völlig ignoriert!). Eine unserer Gäste aus San Francisco meinte, sie habe eine besondere Verbindung zu den in Rinderfett frittierten Pommes. Ich hätte die gesamte Gemüsebeilage (sowohl den Kohl als auch den Brokkoli) zusammen mit dem wunderschönen Kabeljau verputzen können, wenn ich nicht so voller Adrenalin gewesen wäre. Es war wirklich ein fabelhaftes Essen.

Und dann das Personal – sie erledigten ihre Arbeit so perfekt, dass ich sie gar nicht bemerkte – das ist das größte Kompliment! Wir kamen am nächsten Tag zurück, um nachzusehen, ob wir versehentlich etwas vergessen hatten, und das Personal war wieder wunderbar und es war eine Freude, sich mit ihnen zu unterhalten.

Und schließlich, Aimee – vielen herzlichen Dank! Vielen Dank fürs Drucken (und teilweise auch fürs Gestalten!) des Sitzplans und der Tischnamen. Wenn ich um eine Änderung bat (zum Beispiel, dass die Tische von Raffael und Leonardo vertauscht werden sollten), wurde diese sofort umgesetzt – ohne dass ich nachfragen musste! Du hast mir viel Stress erspart, der sonst vielleicht etwas stressig gewesen wäre. Danke auch, dass du darauf bestanden hast, dass wir uns pünktlich zum Essen hinsetzten – das war definitiv die richtige Entscheidung.
